First trip pictures

Bridge in Takayama, home of good ramen and very expensive microbrews

My favorite little guy, directing traffic all through the night

Dead fish in Tsukiji Fish Market, the coolest thing in Tokyo. Evidently, some of the tuna can sell for 10's of thousands of dollars. Because they are so tasty.

Welcome to the Orient!

Hello,
Here I will journalize my excursions in Japan, and hopefully some of the nearby nations. Hopefully I'll do it mostly picture style, but if I have a good story I'll write it down.

I just returned home from a ~2 week trip to Tokyo, Takayama and Hakuba to see off my JET peeps, see some scenery and chill with Hashimoto. I was kind of bored and lonely when I was in Tokyo, as I didn't have much to do. It was really hot and it seems that Japanese people have higher sweat points than I do. Wasting a day in Shinjuku Gyoen was fun though, I got to read and sit on the grass and sleep and be afraid of ants crawling up my pants. Maybe I'll put some pictures up! I wonder how editable this blog is, when I feel like it I'll try to tinker with the html and see what I can do. For now, peace out!

I am actually posting at this ridiculous hour in the morning. I am not in Japan, but my sleep schedule is still screwed.
